Technique to Stop Wasting Time

I am thinking about a Technique to Stop Wasting Time. In this context, I would like to bounce some ideas with you. I want to just have a chat. I am not using your services as a search engine. So, please do not provide me links to any material. Those links distract me and make me lose my focus. Are you ready?


The Technique

The first step in stopping the wastage of time is when I realize that the activity that I am engaged in is a waste of time. The realization that I am wasting time is the trigger that I should use to activate the Technique to Stop Wasting Time.

The second step is start a 2-minute timer, and do the following before the timer goes off: I wash my face with warm or cold water. I gargle with warm or cold water. Instead of gargling, I could just swish the water in my mouth and spit it out. Finally, I drink a glass of water. This breaks the activity that was a waste of time.

The third step is I pick my "Daily Chores To Do List" and complete one task on it. I could pick the easiest task on this list; for example the "Tidy Up" task. This starts me off with doing something useful. It also completes a simple task that I needed to do. I end this step by observing the completed chore, and appreciating it.

The Fourth and last step is I pick my "Dynamic To Do List", pick the most appropriate task from it, and start doing it. What is appropriate? It is entirely up to me to choose. Usually it depends on the urgency, importance, duration, or ease of the task.

By now I have stopped a time wasting activity, completed a chore, and I have starting doing something useful that I had planned to do.
